Adler Ortho® employs Powder Manufacturing Technology also to custom made implants production. Those are devices indicated patients affected by major bone losses due to revision, infection or trauma, or for oncologic cases treatment.
MAXIMUM CUSTOMIZATION THANKS TO 3D PRINTING
Additive technology allows the design of customized implants gathered from patient’s CT scans and/or MRI. These prostheses are normally used for special applications such as the reconstruction of bone segments in cancer patients, or to compensate for bone loss caused by septic or aseptic loosening of orthopaedic prostheses.

The portal completely dedicated to custom implants has been conceived to maximize and streamline the communication between the surgeon and Adler Ortho® and therefore speed up and simplify the whole process.
1. 3D CONCEPTION OF PATIENT ANATOMICAL SEGMENT
The Adler Ortho® engineer uses data from CT scans and if needed also from MRI to create 3D digital anatomical model with or without existing implants. Optimal parameters and native anatomy can be determined accurately to plan proper implant positioning.
2. ADVANCED 3D PLANNING
Starting from the 3D reconstruction of the anatomical segment, it is possible to plan with absolute precision the positioning of the prosthesis that will be used and determine the technique that will be followed for its implantation
3. SURGICAL PLANNING
In total synergy with the surgeon, we study and propose the most appropriate surgical technique for each case to treat.

3D NYLON & PLASTIC MODELS
On request anatomical segments can be 3D printed in sterilizable plastic to simulate surgical procedure or better guide the design of custom-made implants. Thanks to 3D printing expertise and state-of-the-art technologies, we can provide a wide selection of anatomical models at scale in different materials, textures and colours, to help surgeons prepare plan and rehearse any step of the surgery.
3D ADDITIVE CUSTOM IMPLANTS
Adler’s long experience in 3D printing and biomechanics, allows us to solve the most complex cases, collaborating 1-on-1 with the surgeon to develop any type of 3D structure or mesh, manufactured with the most advanced 3D printing techniques according to patient’s and surgeon’s needs.
PATIENT SPECIFIC INSTRUMENTS
We provide a full set of disposable instruments designed to fit the patient’s specific anatomy. PSI and personalized cutting guides often solve major issues by planning in advance and increasing intra-operative accuracy, also in primary cases.
